PREVIEW SCRIPT Vignette #1-
Miss Yvette Dubois and Professor Smythe :
Yvette: "Professor, I must make a comment on ze comical sight, oui?"
Professor: "Eh, wot's that you say m'dear? What comical sight is that?"
Yvette: "Your shoes Professor, I see that ze are, how do you say, on ze wrong feet. How did zat happen?"
Professor: "By Jove, quite right, so they are. They were feeling a little tight. New shoes you know. Well I slipped them off during the meeting, and when the lights went out, in my haste I must have put them on the wrong feet."
Yvette: "Oui,I see. Well I would be careful, Professor. Someone might think zat when ze lights went out, you could have easily slipped something inside one of your shoes. Something valuable, like ze prize Professor. Yes I would be very careful, mon amie!"
Professor: "I think that you should be the one to be careful, my dear.
I couldn't help noticing that your er..evening bag was quite bulging after the lights came on. You see I noticed upon your arrival to the meeting how empty your purse seemed.
(coughs) normally I would not notice things of that nature, but under the circumstances, it now looks a tad suspicious to me. "
Yvette: "Sacre' bleu! You men are all a bunch of buffoons!
That is simply, how do you say, none of your business! Do not accuse me, Monsieur, or else I will have to tell what I saw!"
Professor: "No need to get in a huff Madam! If you're innocent, then you have nothing to fear."
Yvette: "And I say say ze same for you, Monsieur Professor!" (walks off)
Professor: "Me-thinks the lady doth protest too much! Well, we shall see." (sits down)
