Recommendation:

"An Evil Agenda" is a soul stirring journey into the deeply spiritual world in which we live. The struggles and temptations facing the godly youth of this generation are accurately and movingly depicted, as is the power displayed when God's people fast and pray. Charlotte Pound's gripping account is a must read for every Christian teen, their parents and pastors as well. And, as is true of all well written books, "An Evil Agenda" is easy to pick up and hard to put down."

                                                Chapter Two

                                                                                                                        El Rancho, CA

Skylar Jordan shook back her silky blond hair. She couldn't keep the shivers of excitement from racing up and down her spine as she read, for the sixth time, the letter that had come for her yesterday. The letter that could possible change her life...forever.

Skylar was a lovely and gifted girl of seventeen. Her gift was music and she had been using that gift since she was twelve years old. God had blessed her with a powerful, yet tender voice that could bring tears of joy to the eye or cause one to shout praises unto God. She had a dazzling five-octave range, an extraordinary talent in one so young and seemed happiest when she could use it to bless others.

Skylar sang in the El Rancho Apostolic Church choir, and they had just held their second Christmas concert in the new El Rancho Plaza Mall. This was to be a yearly event since the concerts had proved to be an overwhelming success.

The holiday shoppers at the mall would gather and stand in reverent awe as the choir sang the wonderful, old familiar songs of the season. The music Director always included a couple of their own songs, with a Pentecostal flavor and the listening audience seemed to enjoy those the most. Sometimes tears rolled down the cheeks of men and women who stood listening to the sacred music. At times with broad smiles, they would join in with clapping at the more joyous, upbeat songs. Between songs, one or two of the choir members would give a testimony, and the audience seemed to be touched by this as well. The El Rancho Church had actually gained several new converts as a result of the concerts.

Skylar was a lead vocalist and always put her heart into her singing. This was a blessing for her as well as those that she ministered to. This year the concert had been another great success. But this year something unexpected happened, so extraordinary that Skylar still could hardly believe it. As she looked at the letter in her hand, she remembered how it had all started just two weeks ago.....

After the concert had concluded, the choir members stood around shaking hands with the people, inviting them out to church. Skylar was gathering up the music sheets when a man, wearing a broad grin, walked up to her.
